He died on Feburary 21st of the Xia calendar, 479 BC at th eage of seventy-three.
Confucius¡¯ father died when he was three and he was brought up in poverty by his mother. He had no long-time teacher. At the age of fifteen, he made up his mind to be a person who studied hard and assist his generation. After he became an adult he used to be the administrator of Ji Shi¡¯s warehouse and pastureland in Lu. He learned a lot of ceremonial rites and regulations of the noblesse in his working envirenment and his knowledge progressed excessively for he had the chance to read numerous works in the government.
Approximately at the age of thirty, Confucius began to have students and give lectures. As he became more and more famouse, besides the poor family, even some noblemen began to send their children to be his students. At about age fifty, he began a twelve-year journey around China with his students, seeking chances to convince many different rulers of his political beliefs and to push them into reality. He had gone to seven or eight countries but failed. As he got the cheese and growing older, he returned to Lu and concentrated himself on teaching and editing. He bowdlerized Shi and Shu, edited Li and Yue, glorified Zhou Yi and amended Chun Qiu, which was most influential because of its historical justice and integrity.
